Our Mission

Sustainable Energy Developments is the essence of our business, not just our name. Undertaking each quality project with integrity and enthusiasm, we strive to combine our commitment to providing enduring, renewable energy with our client’s vision for a wind or solar installation that provides on-site performance and instills pride of ownership. Although we operate primarily in the Eastern US, offering our expertise to any and all who want to be part of a clean energy revolution, we believe our mission contributes to a much larger goal of helping heal the Earth and sustain it for future generations – as long as the wind blows and the sun shines.

Our Company

Kevin Schulte, George McConochie, Loren Pruskowski, Ernie Pritchard and Joe Swaha have had one goal since the five James Madison University (JMU) roommates founded Sustainable Energy Developments, Inc. (SED) in April of 2002. That goal has been to grow SED with like-minded individuals who share their vision of integrating wind power into the daily lives of the average person through environmentally and economically viable on-site wind projects. Since 2002, they have grown the company with fellow JMU alums, local friends, family members and others who share their enthusiasm and believe in their focus and dreams for success in the renewable energy field.

Their vision has led to SED becoming the leader in community wind projects throughout the Northeastern United States. They have pushed SED into being a company of firsts, signing contracts to develop the first wind project at a ski resort in the country, the first high school in Massachusetts, the first commercial scale wind project on Cape Cod, the first public school in Massachusetts and the first community scale wind projects in both New Hampshire and Delaware.
